47th Street - Times Square

Not a theatre, per se, but an important part of the Midtown theatrical community nonetheless. The Theatre Development Fund began selling discount theatre tickets from a booth in Duffy Square (the northern part of Times Square) on June 25, 1973. Ticket sales were temporarily transferred to Marriott Marquis hotel while the entire square was renovated in 2006.
