2005 DNC Eastern Caucus
On January 1, 2005, the Democratic National Committee held their
Eastern Regional Caucus in New York City to elect a new party chairman.
Howard Dean was in the running for the position and the grassroots group
Driving Votes organized a group of Dean supporters through the
blog MyDD.com to attend the caucus and demonstrate our support.
Group leader Elana Morin described the significant opposition
she faced from the party operatives in a
blog entry,
but we were able to get in and experience a side of the
party that remains hidden from most voters.
