The Hermo Movie Theatre opened in 1935. After a renovation in 1972 it was renamed the Showboat Theatre and operated until the early 1980s. It reopened in 1984 as a non-profit live performance venue. (HermannShowboatCommunityTheatre.com, Cinema Treasures).
