Denver Union Station

Denver's Union Station is a Beaux-Arts structure that opened in 1914 on a site that had hosted two previous incarnations of the station since 1881. At its peak, the station served up to 80 trains a day. When I visited in 2010 it serviced only one intercity train per day (The California Zephyr) and a pair of light rail lines, although plans were in place to develop the area around the station as a mixed-use residential, retail and office complex with a significant transit component.
